As the independent judging firm receives entries, judges will review the entries to determine whether they meet the entry requirements.&nbsp; Only those entries meeting all requirements will be eligible for judging.&nbsp; Entry form (whether online, at a restaurant or mailed) must be complete and in English (entries submitted by mail or at a restaurant must be printed, using blue or black ink).<br /> <em>To be considered for judging, each entry must include</em> <strong>1)</strong> the completed entry form, <strong>2)</strong> the Entrant's original gourmet burger name, <strong>3)</strong> the Entrant's gourmet burger ingredients <em>(no more than ten (10) ingredients may be used in the recipe, including a beef, poultry, seafood, vegetarian or pork patty and bun; ingredients may not include alcohol and ingredients may not be mixed into the patty),</em> <strong>4)</strong> the instructions for preparing the Entrant's gourmet burger <em>(if the recipe includes any brand name products, wherever possible those items&nbsp;will be converted to Red Robin items [for example, Red's Homemade Chili will be substituted for a Brand X chili listed in the recipe, Red Robin's Ranch Dressing would be the brand used if a recipe contains Ranch Dressing and any brand name products included that do not have a related Red Robin equivalent will be converted to generic/non-proprietary products])</em>, <strong>5)</strong> an essay of 100 words or less describing why the Entrant's gourmet burger deserves to be served at every participating Red Robin&reg; restaurant in the U.S. and <strong>6)</strong> the required parent/guardian information.&nbsp; Entries may not have previously won a recipe contest of any kind, must be unpublished and the original work of the Entrant, and the Entrant must own all rights to the entry, including copyright, trademark and publicity rights.&nbsp; Any entry that, in the opinion of the judges and Sponsor, was fraudulently created, infringes upon the rights of others or is incomplete, unreadable or offensive will be disqualified.<br /> Each Entrant and Parent/Guardian, by Parent/Guardian signature on the printed entry form, certifies that he/she has the right, and does thereby authorize Sponsor, to publish the entry (or portions thereof as edited or selected at Sponsor's discretion, including the replacement of any recipe item with the similar/equivalent substitution of a Red Robin item or generic/non-proprietary item), in print, audio, video, internet or other media and to use the ideas encompassed in the entry in perpetuity.&nbsp; Similarly, should an entry submitted online be judged a potential Restaurant Winner, the Parent/Guardian will be contacted (via the Parent/Guardian email address and/or phone number provided at time of entry) prior to use, to complete a release, authorizing Sponsor, to publish the entry (or portions thereof as edited or selected at Sponsor's discretion), in print, audio, video, internet or other media and to use the ideas encompassed in the entry in perpetuity.&nbsp; Entries meeting eligibility and entry requirements will be judged by an independent judging firm to determine Restaurant Winners in two stages of judging: first, the recipe will be judged and, second, if the recipe scores well, the essay will be judged.&nbsp; The entry, from each restaurant, with the highest combined ranking will be named the Restaurant Winner.&nbsp; <u>Recipes will be judged</u> with the following equally weighted criteria:&nbsp; &bull;Originality/creativity of recipe: 0-45 points; Beverage Teams, to determine Cookbook Winners.&nbsp; <u>Recipes will be judged</u> with the following equally weighted criteria: &nbsp;&bull;Originality/creativity of recipe: 0-20 points;&nbsp; &bull;Taste appeal of ingredients: 0-20 points;&nbsp; &bull;Appropriateness of burger name: 0-20 points;&nbsp; &bull;Ability of recipe to be executed in Red Robin&reg; restaurants: 0-20 points.&nbsp; <u>Essays will be judged</u> based on the following equally weighted criteria:&nbsp; &bull;Originality of message: 0-10 points;&nbsp; &bull;Expression of enthusiasm: 0-10 points;&nbsp; &bull;Quality of writing: 0-10 points.<br /> Cookbook Winners will then be re-judged by the Red Robin Marketing, Purchasing, Operations, and Food &amp; Beverage Teams to determine Finalist Winners.&nbsp; <u>Recipes will be judged</u> with the following equally weighted criteria: &bull;Taste appeal of ingredients: 0-15 points; &bull;Originality of recipe and burger name: 0-15 points; &bull;Craveability Interpretation (ability of recipe to entice taste trial and repeat order): 0-15 points; &bull;Ability of recipe to be executed in Red Robin&reg; restaurants: 0-15 points; &bull;Availability of ingredients: 0-15 points.&nbsp; <u>Essays will be judged</u> with the following equally weighted criteria: &bull;Originality of message: 0-7 points;&nbsp; &bull;Expression of enthusiasm: 0-7 points;&nbsp; &bull;Quality of writing: 0-7 points.&nbsp; The ten (10) Cookbook Winners with the highest scores will be named Finalist Winners.<br /> At the National Competition, the Finalist Winners' original entries and essays, in addition to presentation of their recipes and separate oral presentation of their essays, will be judged by members of the Red Robin Marketing Team, Red Robin Food and Beverage Team, Red Robin Purchasing Team and, possibly, guest judges, who may be celebrities or individuals with culinary training, to determine the National Winner and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd National Runner-Up Winners in the following manner:&nbsp; <u>Recipes will be judged</u> with the following equally weighted criteria:&nbsp; &bull;Originality/creativity of recipe: 0-5 points;&nbsp; &bull;Taste appeal of ingredients: 0-5 points;&nbsp; &bull;Appropriateness/creativity of burger name: 0-5 points.&nbsp; <u>Essays will be judged</u> based on the following equally weighted criteria:&nbsp; &bull;Originality of message: 0-5 points;&nbsp; &bull;Expression of enthusiasm: 0-5 points;&nbsp; &bull;Quality of writing: 0-5 points.&nbsp; <u>Presentation and Delivery will be judged</u> with the following equally weighted criteria:&nbsp; &bull;Presentation of burger: 0-5 points;&nbsp; &bull;Delivery of essay: 0-5 points.<br /> BREAKING TIES: Ties to determine Restaurant Winners and Cookbook Winners, if any, will be broken by re-judging the tied entries until the tie is broken.&nbsp; Ties at the National Competition, if any, will be broken by tallying the combined recipe score with the presentation of burger score, and the Entrant with the highest total will be declared the tie-breaker winner.&nbsp; If a highest total tie remains, those entries' scores will be used to determine the tie-breaker winner in the following order: 1) total recipe score + presentation of burger score, 2) total recipe score, 3) sum total of the originality/creativity of recipe score + the taste appeal of ingredients score and 4) taste appeal of ingredients score only.<br /> Judging to determine Restaurant Winners will occur between July 28 and September 29, 2009.&nbsp; Judging to determine Finalist Winners will occur between October 2 and 20, 2009.&nbsp; Judging to determine the National Winner, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd National Runner-Up Winners, is tentatively scheduled to occur on December 3, 2009.&nbsp;
